Shocking new data reveals diabetes-related amputations have gone up by 153% over the last 20 years.
The number of diabetes-related amputations in England is now at an all-time high, with more than 8,500 procedures being carried out each year. This equates to 23 minor and major amputations per day, or more than 160 a week.
The most tragic statistic behind the data is at least 80% of amputations could be prevented with the right support and early treatment.
